The Greater Atlanta or the Metro Atlanta is the most populous metro area in the US state of Georgia. As per the 2019 US census estimates, The Atlanta Metropolitan population, Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta, is the eighth largest with 6.1 million in 2022. Atlanta GA-AL Combined Statistical Area consists of many Metropolitan Statistical Areas, Atlanta-Sandy Springs-Alpharetta, Athens-Clarke County, Gainesville, LaGrange, Rome, Jefferson, Cornelia, Cedartown, Thomaston, and Toccoa.
