Gilbert is a town in Arizona State of United States, located southeast of Phoenix within the city's metropolitan area. Gilbert population in 2024 is estimated to be 285,815, covers city area of 69 square miles (179 sq km), ranks seventh populous city in Arizona, fifth-largest in the Phoenix metro area. It is in Maricopa County, once known as Hay Shipping Capital of the World. Gilbert area was established by William Bobby Gilbert, In 1902, He provided land to the Arizona Eastern Railway for the construction of railway line between Phoenix and Florence.
