Merced is a city in California, State of United States, Located 110 miles southeast of San Francisco and 275 miles northwest of Los Angeles. Merced population in 2024 is estimated to be 91,487, covers city area of 23.25 sq mi (60.2 sq km), ranks ninety-sixth largest city in California State, four-hundred-fourth city in the United States. It is named after the Merced River, Merced is a Spanish word for Mercy, is a city in Merced County, in the San Joaquin Valley, Incorporated in April 1889. Merced population as per 2020 census is 86,333 compared to 2010 population of 78,958 with the increase number of 7,375 people and growth of 9.3 percent.
