Plano is a city in Texas State of United States. it is located about 17 miles from Downtown Dallas. Plano population in 2024 is estimated to be 291,518, covers city area of 72.04 sq mi (186.59 sq km). Plano city is part of the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, it is in Collin County and Denton County, Plano is named for the flat plains, old and large trees abound in the city's many parks. Plano was incorporated in 1873, In 1872, the completion of the Houston and Central Texas Railway led to grow Plano, by then estimated population reached 500, Initially Plano city grew slowly till 1,300 in 1900 and 3,695 in 1960. By 1980 it reached 72,000 and by 2000 the population of Plano reached 222,030. Due to its close proximity to Dallas, 80% of Plano city visitors are business travelers and the many corporations headquartered in Plano.
