Marshall Islands Population

The Marshall Islands comprises 29 coral atolls, the country is part of the larger island group of Micronesia lies east of the Federated States of Micronesia, north of Nauru and south of Wake Island, northeast of Kiribati. Marshall Islands population in 2022 is estimated to be 40 thousands, covers country area of 181.43 sq km (70.05 sq mi), ranks one-hundred-eighty-eighth country by area and the two-hundred-first most populous country in the world. Its capital is Majuro. Country code is MHL, Population of Marshall Islands in 2021 is estimated as 39,262 to 54,516, The 2021 figure is estimated, but the actual inhabitants may be much less when the next census is taken, Marshall Islands has seen a 26 percent drop in its population due to emigration. The Marshall Island 2011 census showed there were 53,158 people in the country.

Marshall Islands population in 1960 is 14,674, by 1970 the population is increased by 5,720 totaling to 20,394, by 1980 the population is increased to 30,574, and by 1990 the total increase of 47,265 in 30 years from 1960 to 1990 resulting to 47,265. From 1990 to 2000, population increased to 50,754, and from 2000 to 2010 the population of Marshall Islands increase by 5,607 with a change of 11.05 percent and increase of population from 2010 to 2020 by 2,833 with a change of 5.03 percent and make up to 59,194.

According to doi, Republic of Marshall Islands population distribution has been the dominance of Majuro and Kwajalein largely Ebeye, currently accounting for 74% of the total population. The highest density in the Marshall is on Ebeye island in Kwajalein Atoll where 9,614 people live on 0.12 sq mi.
