New Orleans

After years of falling murder rates in New Orleans, killings in the city are once again on the rise. By 2023, The number of murders in New Orleans has surged dramatically with 238 murders by November. A total of 201 homicides in all of 2020, 221 murders were registered in 2021, homicides rose 80% and shootings doubled compared with 2019 figures. Carjackings have been a particular concern, rising 160% during that same period. According to the Metropolitan Crime Commission, there have been 218 carjackings in 2022, 343 shootings, and 397 armed robberies.

Alexandria
