History of Greece

Greece was popular from ancient time because of the Alexander III of Macedon, also known as Alexander the Great, was a king of the ancient Greek kingdom of Macedon in 336 BC, succeeded his father to the throne at the age of 20. He had created one of the largest empires in history, stretching from Greece to northwestern India. Alexander endeavored to reach the ends of the world, he invaded Anatolia, Syria, Phoenicia, Judea, Gaza, Egypt, Mesopotamia, Persia and Bactria. In 326 BC, He invaded Taxila which is a small kingdom in India with difficulty losing major part of his army in this battle, He wants to succeed to largest Indian empire of Maurya Empire who was ruling by Mighty Chandra Gupta Maurya, by estimating his army, Alexander dropped the idea to move further, Fearing the prospect of facing the large armies, He was not able to invade India and returned to Persia.
