Argentina is a country in the southern half of South America, borders Bolivia and Paraguay to the north, Chile to the west, Brazil to the northeast, Uruguay and the South Atlantic Ocean to the east. According to indec, Argentina population in 2022 is estimated to be 47.32 million, covers country area of 2,780,400 sq km (1,073,500 sq mi, largest Spanish speaking nation, ranks eighth largest country by area and the thirty-second most populous country in the world, second-largest country in South America after Brazil, the fourth-largest country in the Americas. Its capital and most populous city is Buenos Aires and other popular cities are Córdoba, Rosario, Mendoza, San Miguel de Tucumán, La Plata, Mar Del Plata, Salta, Santa Fe and San Juan. Country code is ARG, Population of Argentina in 2021 is estimated as 45.8 million. Argentina is highly urbanised with 92% of the population are living in the cities. Argentina fertility rate is 2.2 children per women. Argentina provinces and the capital have their own constitutions, but exist under a federal system and the country has was under Spanish colonization during the 16th century.

Argentina population in 1960 is 20,481,781, by 1970 the population is increased by 3,398,783 totaling to 23,880,564, by 1980 the population is increased to 27,896,532, and by 1990 the total increase of 32,618,648 in 30 years from 1960 to 1990 resulting to 32,618,648. From 1990 to 2000, population increased to 36,870,796, and from 2000 to 2010 the population of Argentina increase by 3,917,657 with a change of 10.63 percent and increase of population from 2010 to 2020 by 4,588,310 with a change of 11.25 percent and make up to 45,376,763. As per the latest census 2022 results announced by INDEC, the total population stood at 47,327,407, out of these women make up the majority of the population with 52.83 percent and 47.05 percent are male.

The ten largest cities accounting for half of the population, more than 3 million people live in Buenos Aires, The largest urban region and an autonomous district. Greater Buenos Aires metro population will have around 14 million by 2022. Córdoba city is the north-west of Buenos Aires, is the second most populous city of Argentina with 1.6 million, Rosario is the largest city of Santa Fe province, which is the Argentina's third largest city with about 1.5 million, and the principal Santa Fe city having half a million, Mendoza is the fourth largest with 1.1 million inhabitants. Tucumán and Salta has about above six hundred thousand inhabitants. San Fernando, Confluencia and Corrientes has about above four hundred thousand, and Paraná, Posadas, General Roca are between three-hundred to four-hundred thousand people.

Argentina is subdivided into twenty-three provinces, and one autonomous city, Buenos Aires, which is the capital and largest city of the country. Buenos Aires province is the most populated province in Argentina with 17.8 million in 2021, followed by Córdoba with 3.8 million, Santa Fe with 3.5 million, Mendoza with 2 million, Tucumán with 1.7 million, Salta with 1.45 million, Entre Ríos with 1.41 million and Entre Ríos with 1.2 million. The largest Argentina province by area is Buenos Aires with 307,571 sq km, followed by Santa Cruz with 243,943 sq km and Chubut with 224,686 sq km, and the smallest province is Tierra del Fuego with 21,263 sq km.
