Alexandria population as per 2020 census 159,467 compared to 2010 population is 139,966, with increase number of 19,501 people growth of 13.9 percent. In 1669 a patent granted 6,000 acres approximately about 24 sq km to Robert Howsing for transporting 120 people to the Colony of Virginia, this was later become City of Alexandria, and historic center of Alexandria is known as Old Town.
