Independence is a city in Missouri, State of United States, Independence population in 2023 is estimated to be 122,994, covers city area of 78.42 sq mi (203.10 sq km), ranks fifth largest city in Missouri State, two-hundred-thirty-first city in the United States. Independence is a satellite city of Kansas City, known as the Queen City of the Trails, originally inhabited by Missouri and Osage Native Americans. Independence population as per 2020 census is 123,011 compared to 2010 population of 116,830 with the increase number of 6,181 people and growth of 5.3 percent.
