McAllen is the largest city in Hidalgo County, located at the southern tip of the state in the Rio Grande Valley, on the Mexico United States border. McAllen is about 70 mi west of the Gulf of Mexico. McAllen population as per 2020 census is 142,210 compared to 2010 population of 129,877 with the increase number of 12,333 people and growth of 9.5 percent.
