Renton is a city in Washington, State of United States, Renton population in 2023 is estimated to be 106,080, covers city area of 25.23 sq mi (65.36 sq km), ranks eighth largest city in Washington State, two-hundred-ninety-fourth city in the United States. Renton is a city in King County, located 11 miles southeast of downtown Seattle, the southeast shore of Lake Washington, at the mouth of the Cedar River. Erasmus M. Smithers, who is credited with the founding and establishment of the town in 1875, Smithers named Renton in honor of Captain William Renton, a local shipping merchant who invested heavily in the coal trade. Renton population as per 2020 census is 106,785 compared to 2010 population of 90,927 with the increase number of 15,858 people and growth of 17.4 percent.
