Sunrise is a city in Florida, State of United States, is a city in central-western Broward County, and is a principal city of the Miami metropolitan area. Sunrise population in 2024 is estimated to be 97,170, covers city area of 18.12 sq mi (46.94 sq km), ranks twenty-fourth largest city in Florida State, three-hundred-thirty-seventh city in the United States. Sunrise was incorporated in 1961 and founded by Iowa-born developer, Norman Johnson. Sunrise population as per 2020 census is 97,335 compared to 2010 population of 84,439 with the increase number of 12,896 people and growth of 15.3 percent.
