Winston and Salem are the towns of the two neighboring towns of Winston and Salem, In the 1880s, the US Post Office began referring to the two towns as Winston-Salem in 1880 and in 1913 the towns are merged and called as Winston-Salem, also called the Twin City for its dual heritage. It is in Forsyth County and second largest municipality in the Piedmont Triad region.
