Oklahoma (U.S. state abbreviation is 'OK') is the midwestern state of United States, bordered by Kansas to the north, Missouri and Arkansas to the east, Texas to the south and west. Oklahoma population in 2024 is estimated to be 4.08 million, ranks 28th populous state. Oklahoma is gaining population and increased by 88,590 people since from the last census in 2020. Its area is 69,899 sq miles (181,040 sq km), 20th largest state in the United States. The name 'Oklahoma' came from two Choctaw Indian words, 'okla' meaning people, and 'humma' meaning red, so the Oklahoma state name literally means 'red people'. The region of Oklahoma originally Indian Territory, the state of Oklahoma in 1889 was opened to European settlers to claim plots, many grabbed to the states and were called 'Land Rush'. The first capital city of Oklahoma was in Guthrie, but was moved later to Oklahoma City, Tulsa is the sixth most dangerous city, and other top cities are Norman, Broken Arrow, Edmond, Lawton. The popular places are Turner Falls, Frontier City, a theme park, Tulsa Zoo, Oklahoma Aquarium.

The population of Oklahoma 2019 is projected to be 3.95 million with change of 0.31% compared to 0.29% in 2018. According to U.S. 2020 Census Results, OK population in 2020 is 3,959,353. Oklahoma population in 2023 is estimated to be 4.04 million, population in 2022 is estimated to be 4.04 million, and in 2021 is estimated to be 3.98 million.
