Billings was nicknamed the Magic City, it is the seat of Yellowstone County and the principal city of the Billings Metropolitan Area. The Yellowstone River runs through the southeast portion of the city. Billings elevation is 3,126 feet above sea level. Billings population as per 2020 census is 117,116 compared to 2010 population of 104,170 with the increase number of 12,946 people and growth of 12.4 percent.
