St. Petersburg is a city in the Florida state of United States, bordered by the Old Tampa Bay, Middle Tampa Bay, and Lower Tampa Bay, all of which form the Tampa Bay. St. Petersburg population in 2021 is estimated to be 262,167, covers city area of 131.34 sq mi (340.16 sq km), ranks fifth-most populous city in Florida, the second-largest city in the Tampa Bay Area, after Tampa City. St. Petersburg is in the Pinellas County, The city is often referred to by locals as St. Pete and nicknamed as Sunshine City. St. Petersburg was founded by John C. Williams, who purchased the land in 1888. Saint Petersburg is the part of Tampa-St.Petersburg-Clearwater, Combined Statistical Area of Tampa bay.
