Panama is a transcontinental country in Central America and South America, borders Colombia to the southeast, Costa Rica to the west, the Caribbean Sea to the north, and the Pacific Ocean to the south. Panama population in 2022 is estimated to be 4.45 million, covers country area of 75,417 sq km (29,119 sq mi), ranks one-hundred-sixteenth country by area and the one-hundred-twenty-seventh most populous country in the world. Its capital is Panama City, other popular cities are San Miguelito, Las Cumbres, La Chorrera, Tocumen, Pacora, Arraiján, David, Vista Alegre and Santiago de Veraguas. Country code is PAN, Population of Panama in 2021 is estimated as 4.38 million, Life expectancy of Panama is 76.65 years for male and 82.06 years for female.

According to 2010 census, Ethnic group wise 65.0 percent are Mestizo, 12.3 percent are Indigenous, 9.2 percent are Black, 6.8 percent are Mulatto and 6.7 percent are White. 91.5 percent are Christian, 7.6 percent follows no religion and 0.9 percent follow others religions.

Panama population in 1960 is 1,133,005, by 1970 the population is increased by 386,281 totaling to 1,519,286, by 1980 the population is increased to 1,978,489, and by 1990 the total increase of 2,470,946 in 30 years from 1960 to 1990 resulting to 2,470,946. From 1990 to 2000, population increased by 559,387 to 3,030,333, and from 2000 to 2010 the population of Panama increase by 612,358 with a change of 20.21 percent and increase of population from 2010 to 2020 by 672,077 with a change of 18.45 percent and make up to 4,314,768.
