Qatar population in 1960 is 47,383, by 1970 the population is increased by 62,138 totaling to 109,521, by 1980 the population is increased to 223,622, and by 1990 the total increase of 476,275 in 30 years from 1960 to 1990 resulting to 476,275. From 1990 to 2000, population increased by 116,192 to 592,467, and from 2000 to 2010 the population of Qatar increase by 1,263,862 with a change of 213.32 percent and increase of population from 2010 to 2020 by 1,024,731 with a change of 55.20 percent and make up to 2,881,060. Qatar population in 2023 is estimated to be 3.04 million, population in 2022 is estimated to be 2.97 million, Population of Qatar in 2021 is estimated as 2.93 million.
According to psa, Qatar 2020 census, the population rose by 1,147 million as compared to census 2010, totalling the population to 2.846 million in 2020 with an increase of 67.5 percent.
Qatar has been divided into eight municipalities. Population density increased by 67.5 percent in 2020 census compared to 2010 census, 244.6 persons per sq km compared to 146 persons per sq km. Doha Municipality has the highest growth in terms of density with 5,344 people per sq km compared to 3,590 people per sq km in 2010 census, Umm Salal Municipality with 471 people per sq km, Al-Rayyan Municipality with 337 people per sq km.
